This is a photo of buddies from Supply Co, Third Battalion, 3rd Marines. We were on split tours at the time in Nam. We were also assigned to floats in the Southern Pacific. Part of us, me included, went for winter training on Mount Fuji.
Camp Hansen 1971
I was at Camp Hanson in 1958. At that time there was nothing there but 5 man tents and an old Japanees coral air strip. The 12 man latreens, showers and messhall were tents. by 1958 marine engineers built us cwonset huts. The nerest liberty town was Ishakawa.
Before Hanson, 1956 1957 I was at Camp McGill and North Camp Fuji. The North Camp was an old Japanees prisoner camp for captured. One of our Gunny’s was a prisoner there. Our nerest liberty toqwn was outside the wire.
