China duty with Gen Puller

Would like to let you know, as a career Marine.

18 years old when enlisted, 1939. I am now 91

After graduating in 1939 (Apr), I was transferred

to China assigned to the Old Fourth Reg. At that

time Gen Puller was a Captain. I had many runs

around city of Shanghia with then Capt Puller.

Gen Puller left China a month before we shipped

to Phillippines. Of course you know what happend

WW11. I spent nearly 4 years as a POW. But

getting back to the General. What a Marine.
