Left NAS Dallas in Sept 1966 with a Cpl who was taking us
to Dallas Love Field for a flight to L A and a bus to San diego.
He said to us "Gentlemen you are in for a rude awakening.
1.Keep your mouth shut
2.Do what you are told
3. Don't volunteer for anything"
I thought that this sounded like good advice.
We made it to bootcamp, yellow footprints, and part of Platoon
3315 SDI SSGT Amos, DI SGT Conrad and Cpl McClure. Surviving training, seems like all kinds of injections for our protection. One day this was to be our final day of injections.
Marched up to the building standing at attention were told we
would receive 1 shot in our left testical. WHAT!
The DI's all stern faced
while we were not trying to grimace or let them know we didn't
think this was a good idea.Went in the building a few at a time.
Did not hear any screaming. We got some shots in each arm and exited the building. All the DI'S were there laughing at us.
I guess they could see the sigh of relief on our faces.
