The Few & The Proud

Never have so few done so much for so many.

I may be an old Army Dog – but my father …. A “retired” MSG USMC – if their is ever such a thing as a “Retired” Marine – taught me the values that we just read about …. and I applied them wherever I served.

But – I’m proud to see that those who live/demonstrate them are recognized & appropriately honored. We all know it wasn’t for the “tin” – it was for his comrades and the Corps. This reinforces the belief “we go in together, we come out together, and NO ONE is left behind”

My father – who passed away a year ago – would be proud … and taught me to acknowledge heroism when you see it ….. so I know if he were here he would say “Semper Fi … job well done” …. followed immediately with “now get out there and do the job – Marine”!

May this set the standard for all who wear the uniform.

  1. I’m sure that your father would have been honored to have been so remembered by his son. May he rest in peace. “…and when he got to heaven, to St. Peter he did tell, ‘Another Marine reporting, Sir, I’ve spent my time in hell.'” – Unknown Semper Fi!!! Top Pro

  2. God…Corps…Country

    In that order!

God and your immediate family always come first..then your extended family the brotherhood (includes our sisters) we call our beloved Corps..then our wonderful nation that enable the first two.

A 3-stranded cord cannot be broken!

Like Pres Reagan, God loves His marines..your father was WELL received!

God Bless and yes Semper Fi
