General Black Jack Pershing
They don’t make them like this anymore

When we lost Chesty Puller, that was the “LAST OF THE BREED” who had enough “BALLS” to do something like this in today’s “POLITICALLY CORRECT MILITARY”!!!!!
It’s really discouraging to know that we don’t have any more like these guys!!!!
God save the United States….The politicians are tearing us apart!!!!!

Sgt Maj Dan Daley – Cypress Hills National Cemetary

Sgt Maj Dan Daley – Cypress Hills National Cemetary

I wanted to share this picture of Sgt Maj Dan Daley, he is buried in Cypress Hills National Cemetary, Brooklyn, NY. When I visited his grave, it was overgrown with weeds and the headstone was unreadable to to weathering and dirt. We cleaned it up with soap and water, cut the grass around the grave, and placed two Sgt Maj chevrons on either side of his name, which unfortunately I can not find at the moment. Sgt Maj Daley, is a relative on my mothers side of the family, and from the stories about him, I can tell you he was all Marine and very gung ho. I was told he worked as a bank guard after his retirement, and apprehended a bank robber single handedly, which after his past exploits in the Marines is hardly worth mentioning here, but thought you should know. read more

Cadence Nap

I just had to write and send this picture in I grew up with my dad in the Marines and now that I am grown and have a son of my own we sit around listening to cadence. When my last set of cadence cd’s (ordered from sgt grit) showed up my husband downloaded them on my MP3 player and when I came in the door I see our son sound asleep on the sofa listening to the new MARINE songs. He loves doing anything that his grandpa has done! read more

She Needed A Hug

She Needed A Hug

I was at the airport on Feb. 19th 2006. i had just got married 6 and a half hours prior and me and my new husband were walking to the elevators, him in his dress blues and me in my wedding dress. Just before we got to the doors i saw a young woman with a red USMC sweat shirt on. she was hiding her face and i wasnt sure why until she got closer. She had tears over flowing from her eyes. i turned as she passed behind me and asked if i could give her a hug. she turn with her tear full eyes and shook her head up and down and said yes. I walked up to her and held her and patted her back tyring to comfort her. She said her husband had got onto a plane that morning. She held me soo tight. We both cried and i told her i hoped for a safe return and she let go and thanked me and my husband. And we both went on our ways she had a flight to catch and so did we. My husband didnt understand who she was ro why i stopped to hug her and even though i explained it i dont know if he still understands. I hugged her because i knew i would want a hug if i was in her place. This is for any woman at the airport seeing her man leave a BIG hug for you to know you are not alone.
