A heart-warming Marine Corps Pilot story…
A heart-warming Marine Corps Pilot story…
During a commercial airline flight, a former Marine Corps Pilot was seated next to a young mother with a babe in arms. When the baby began crying during the descent for landing, the mother began nursing the infant as discreetly as possible.

35th Anniversary of The Fall of Saigon
Marines;
The attached picture was taken at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in
Quantico, VA on April 29, 2010. This day was the 35th anniversary of The Fall of Saigon.
The flags in the picture are from a quarter deck in the DAO compound Saigon South Vietnam;
1st Lt Bruce P. Thompson – Bowers had taken possession of the American and South Vietnam flags during our mission in support of The Marine Detachment at The United States Embassy in Saigon South Vietnam commencing April 25, 1975 and prior to our platoon be relieved in the late afternoon of April 29th 1975.
To “Acquire” Some
I was at MCRD San Diego in April '06. We were always running out sh-tter paper and we were told by our company 1st Sgt that supply wouldn't provide us with anymore for a while because we over used our supply. So we would have to “acquire” some from other platoons & that all the DI's would be made aware of this.

Why We Still Need the Marines
In Washington these days, the Defense Department is looking to cut its budget and the Marine Corps especially is reviewing its future role. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has spoken of “anxiety” that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have turned the Corps into a “second land army,” and he has cancelled major Marine weapons systems, such as the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle. No institution is sacrosanct, so it's worth asking: Why should we maintain the Marine Corps in the future?
