In the 11 years that I have been in our beloved Corps, I have never served with a better crew. These Devil Dogs went to CAX with only a notion of what a real machinegunner could do. While we were there, each of these marines performed admirably leaving behind their foolish notions and taking with them a found purpose. In 1995 I was diagnosed with terminal Cancer and given 4-6 months to live. As my wife and I talked about the things we wished we had done and what to do with what was left I said I wished I had gotten a tattoo when I was in. My wife told me, get one there's time. I thought you would like to see the new 4th Marine Division Monument put up this week. It sits at the "Veterans Memorial" Eisenhower Park, East Meadow N.Y. The 1st Marine Division Association also has a beautiful monument there. read more
