Thank You

Sergeant Grit,

I wanted to say Thank You for providing a place were Marines can gather as a community and order things only Chesty would want!   Thank You.   Regards, Former Sergeant Stephens   Photo description: Riding forward reconnaissance for 1st Marine Division during the Intial Invasion of Iraq (OIF I – 2003 – Miliary Police Company)

T-Shirts to Fallujah

Dear Patricia and members of Sgt Grits, Inc.
We received the shirts you sent to us here in Fallujah and would just like to say thank you very much. My teammates and I really appreciate your generosity and support. The shirts are definitely coming in handy. Our team provides security for VIP's and convoys. We operate out of Fallujah, but work from Baghdad to the Syrian border. We have about twenty members in our team comprised of active and reserve Marines. Most of our team is originally from California and Chicago, but we also have members from AZ, WA, NJ, and LA. The weather is getting hotter out here. It is in the 100's everyday. Our team gets pretty busy. The activity has decreased a little here; it's a little less dangerous than it was our first two months here. Our team has several members that have received Purple Hearts, but the wounds were minor and everyone is doing fine. We really appreciate the thoughtfulness and support we are receiving from everyone back home and just wanted to take the time to say thank you for supporting us. Attached is a picture of the team.

Ambushed Vehicles From The Sand Box

Ambushed Vehicles From The Sand Box

THE below PHOTOS in WORDS……..

Hey man, just got hit today. I’ll paint the picture for you. Three vehicles, Lead vehicle (soft vehicle and the one I was in), Hard vehicle (clients plus two DEH), and Trail vehicle (also a soft vehicle). We were driving back to base and came up on an overpass. Saw two white trucks stopped above our lane with about 6-8 people around it. First thing they did was RPG the hard vehicle (which hit the windshield and didn’t blow. They started hitting us with frags and AK fire. We opened up on the and before the first vehicle cleared the bridge we confirmed 4 kills. When we cleared the bridge, they ran to the other side and started shooting from the rear. Shawn (our rear gunner with the M240) opened up on the group of shooters. A BMW with 4 armed guys tried to side swipe the hard vehicle. The lead vehicles rear shooter also with a M240 shot the BMW until it blew up. The hard vehicle’s engine locked up and the trail vehicle started pushing it and my vehicle fell to the rear. We drove until the hard vehicle started burning and we pulled over and secured the area and did a vehicle transfer. We dropped 2 grenades in the armored vehicle and left it. We created about 2 miles of hot led along the highway….shot EVERY vehicle that we passed. read more

Fahrenheit 9/11 Review

Fahrenheit 9/11 Review

Hello guys and girls. I had the unpleasant opportunity to view the new movie “Fahrenheit 9/11” by Michael Moore last night. I have never been so offended in my life, he makes us Marines feel like we are over here fighting watching our friends and other troops die for no cause. Vote for Bush.
