Dale Peterson’s story “Guardian Angel”
Dale Peterson’s story “Guardian Angel”
I just wanted to comment on Dale Peterson’s story about getting to the airport…. almost on time! Just as I was getting to the end, and he said he could not find the big black man that brought him to the airport, and then he was told that he reported alone, I teared up and got chills…. then I read the next paragraph, only to read that Mr.Peterson still feels that way everytime he thinks about that story.
My Son – My Marine – My Hero
My Son – My Marine – My Hero
I am so proud of my Marine, LCpl Daniel Lambert. Daniel fulfilled a boyhood dream in September 2007 when he completed boot camp at Parris Island – he was a Marine! But to me I am proud of my son for more than being a Marine. When he graduated from high school in June of 2007 he was a honor student and had been accepted at NC State University and was recruited by a small college in NC to play football. However, Daniel choose to follow his dream and leave for boot camp just two weeks after graduating. Daniel just returned from a seven month deployment overseas and is expected to deploy again in early 2010. Daniel’s grandfather served in the Navy in World War II and a very special man he “adopted” as his grandfather served in the Army in World War II. These two men are Daniel’s heroes but MY HERO is my son – my Marine – LCpl Daniel Lambert!

Story About Coming Home
Story About Coming Home
This happened to me on August 5, 2003.
I served as a Marine air traffic controller in Vietnam. My son, Austin, is currently in the Corps. He has had 2 tours in Iraq. Currently, he is enroute to Camp Butler, Okinawa.
This story is about how Austin let me know he was back in the United States from his first tour in Iraq.
Mother of Two Marines
Mother of Two Marines
I am the Mother of not one but two Marines. LCpl Justin A. Baker & his brother Pvt. Tyler J. Baker. Justin just started his 2nd tour in Iraq in January of 2007. We have a special place in our garden to celebrate all the men and women who serve in the military. The boys grandfathers on both sides are military men. Their maternal grandfather was career Air Force and their paternal grandfather a Marine. Oh, even me their Mother wore combat boots, I served in the Army were I married their father 29-years ago this year! This site brings me great comfort and joy. Of course we are proud of both of our Marines!

Sgt Grit,
