USMC Gear
Dear Sgt. Grit,
My family and I love your store. My husband served in the Marine Corps for 8 years and misses it everyday. He was injured in combat, but your store allows us the opportunity to show our USMC pride! We have something for every vehicle, every family member, and every room in the house.
Happy Birthday Picture
Hello Sgt Grit!
My husband is LCPL Jeffrey Saville, as most people are doing, we are celebrating the birthday of the Marine Corps. Our son, Bryce Saville, has been wearing his Dress Blue outfit in honor of the 235th Birthday. Since he has been wearing it all day it has gotten a little dirty 🙂 Out of regulations I know 🙂 I wanted to share this with all of Sgt Grit and its fans! I apologize but I was not sure which email to forward this too.
Jessie Perry in Korea
Here is a picture of my father in law in During the Korean war. After this he was called the canteen kid. I sent this to my son a third generation Marine, a year ago while he was in boot camp for motivation. and his DI's enjoyed it.

RIP SSGT Gene S. Richards
Several months ago you ran a picture of my dad in Sasebo Japan and one of myself in Desert Storm in Sgt. Grit. I have attached that picture again.
My dad Gene S. Richards passed away Sunday May 9th in Salt Lake City Utah. He was an Iwo Jima Marine and watched the second flag go up, participated in the occupation of Japan and was a drill instructor after the war at MCRD San Diego. In Nov. 1940 half of his bootcamp platoon would later go to Wake Island.
Service Co. 5th Amphibious Corps
Dear Sgt. Grit,
Attached, please find the list of names/cities that are written on the flag, a current picture of my Dad with the flag, an old picture of his unit when they were on Oahu (before they went to Iwo Jima), and a picture of him back then.
Thanks for posting them.

Another Marine reporting Sir
"Another Marine reported to St. Peter this week. My father, Albert R. Ruggiero, PFC, 1943-1946, passed away on 11July2010 in his home of Huntington Beach, CA. He served with the 9th MAW, Cherry Point, NC as a radioman on a B-25 bomber. He was a native of Grenich Village, NY. Upon leaving the Marines he moved to California with his mom and resumed his life in Los Angeles, CA where he worked as a deputy sheriff in the West Hollywood area then with IBM and retiring from IBM after 36 years. He is survived by 2 sons, Ralph & Paul and his daughter Christina. He was a wonderful good natured man and will be missed dearly. I love you dad. Semper Fidelis.
Marine Family
Sgt Grit,
1st Sgt Holman here again. Picture is of my wife and I next to my bird up in Bridge Port, cold weather train base CA. Not bad when you go from a grunt to the air wing, and get your wings and you and your wife are in the same squadron (HMH769) and you can fly together. Team Work. Call signs Wonder Woman and Capt. America. 18 years of flying and got pulled back into the grunts for Desert Storm. That's the Corps for ya! But you gotta love it and we do. All of our married life and a few before we met. Semper Fi
