Sgt. Grit here I am at base Camp Mt Fuji Japan 1962. Cold weather training. Not very cold that day 30 – 40 degrees.

Sgt Grit is a place where Marines can come and meet other Marines, share tattoos and stories, keep up with Marine Corps news, or shop for USMC gear.

On 22 September 2012, The Fallen Hero's Dream Ride was escorted by the Oklahoma Patriot Guard to the Sgt Grit facility in Oklahoma City, OK. Jason and Julie Vinnedge, father and mother of LCpl Phillip Vinnedge, were on an across country tour to help raise funds for the following charities: Toys For Tots, Missouri Military Memorial Fund, Gold Star Mothers, and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, just to name a few.
While getting parts at a Dodge dealership in Spring, TX, we noticed this Marine Truck. It was a special order by a Marine. It had quotations by famous people, in Memory of Marines he served with (whose names were placed upon the truck), among the obvious in the pictures. It was a privilege and an honor just to be able to see this truck. Never saw it again after that day and I drive down that way every two weeks to the Veterans Center. Semper Fi Marine!
I have seen some pride shown on Marine's vehicles, and thought I would send this. With the help of my Sgt. Grit license plate holder and window decal, and the NJ state's vanity license program, I'm able to drive with Identity.

Sgt Grit,
Thanks for the newsletter and all the work you do to keep it going. I cheat and read it late Wednesday night! Now for the Might-Mite friends I have a picture of one flying….under a CH-46! The other picture is of a CH-37? I really need some help here. Two of them were at MCAF Santa Ana when I got there as a young PFC. Thanks would be about Spring 1966. Then one day while working on the flight line I noticed that they were gone. I'm assuming that they were flown out but who knows. Thanks to Wayne Miailhiot for the update on the old hangers.
Sempi Fi to all.
