Sgt. Grit,
I am sure someone will come in with an older one but here is mine candidate.

Sgt Grit is a place where Marines can come and meet other Marines, share tattoos and stories, keep up with Marine Corps news, or shop for USMC gear.

Well, Sgt. Grit, we've had a couple of candidates for old liberty cards. That prompted me to dig into my strong box for mine. It was issued in 1954 at HQFMFPAC, Pearl Harbor. Anybody got an older one?

There seems to be some confusion about the intro of Hawk missles.
In April of 1959 my first permanent duty station was 29 Palms and my unit was 1st 75's AA batallion. This was a radar guided 75mm anti aircraft weapon. The problem was that in firing at a towed drone the radar would creep up the tow cable and if the operator didn't manually keep it cranked back the weapon would, eventually, fire at the tow plane.
In your letter, someone asked for pictures of Am-Tracs. So…. Here ya go!

Sgt. Grit,
It's funny, lately, I've been meeting Marines that served during the 80's, 90's, and 00's years and when we talk about our experiences, enlistment years, and MOS I always have a hard time explaining the 106mm Recoilles Rifle and 50cal spotting rifle. They have absolutely no idea what this fine weapon was all about and how much fun it was to shoot!
Took helo pic while on exercises on Camp Pendleton.
The flag pic is myself, LCPL Ohigashi, LCPL Johnson and LCPL Johnson on a float to the Portland, OR, Rose Festival, on the USS Okinawa, in 1987.
