A USMC 100-Year Family Tradition

A USMC 100-Year Family Tradition

I am writing to thank you for the posters that you sent to my brother, Virgil Campbell. I am one of the proud recipients. I had seen that poster at the VA office also but didn’t have the foresight to see where it came from. I do have your catalog now and will be ordering other items. The Marine Recruiter in Kenai, Alaska told me that he would hang one in the office over there if he had one so I asked Virg to pass one on to him too. Virgil gave 3 to other former Marines today. You have made a lot of people happy. Semper Fi and thanks again. read more

Thought the readers may be interested in this photo. He is related to me on my mothers side of the family, I found his grave at the Cypress Hills Cemetery in Queens, NY. It was all over grown with weeds and the headstone was filthy, so I scrubbed the headstone with soap and water and cut the grass. It is sad that these true heroes have been forgotten. read more

I’d like to put in my two cents worth on the survey “your favorite Marine.” Although I agree with the other votes there is one that is definitely missing. David M. Shoup. His heroism at Tarawa and duty to the Corps deserves a vote. He’s got mine. I had the privilege to shake the man’s hand at graduation from MCRD San Diego in 56. I had no Idea who he was at the time but I sure as hell do now. read more
