Sgt. Grit
This morning, upon receiving the beautiful sword, frog, and white gloves from you, I took the accompanying picture at the side of my house. I like it very much as it shows the ribbons and medals plus the First Marine Division patch, beautiful sword with tassle, white leather frog, and gloves. You have the choice of the other picture or this one for the web page entry. read more

Our 2 Year Old

Dear Sgt. Grit:

My husband and I (both being former Marines) enjoy your website very much! And we have high hopes for our 2 year old son and our soon to be born son (due in July) to become Marines also.

Well, being proud parents we are always taking candid snap shots of our little guy. When we got this roll of film developed we were pleasantly surprised to find this picture in here. It was so cute we just had to share it with you and your staff. (Also it's a great advertisement for the Corps) (*And your merchandise*) Again, we really enjoy your website and all the products you offer! Thanks! read more

Engraved Canteen Cup

Subject: Contest for most unique, creative, gung ho, unusual, hard charging, strange, imaginative, and ingenious, use of Sgt Grit product.

For the past few years I have been fortunate enough to be involved in flying two beautifully restored UH-34 helicopters to Marine Bases & Airshows across the country. One of these aircraft, I actually flew in combat in Vietnam 33 years ago. There are few people who can say that they flew the same aircraft in combat 33 years ago & are still flying it today. To say life has been good to me, is an understatement. It doesn't get any better than this. However, while flying one of these aircraft (YL-42, owned by Jim Moriarty) from Houston, TX to one of the Marine Corps Airshows (Destination intentionally omitted for reasons which will become evident later), Gunny Sachs & I were flying IFR (I Follow the Road) at about 500 feet over a major highway. We were experiencing some pretty hefty headwinds, which reduced our ground speed from the usual 90 knots to only about 45 knots. It was getting pretty embarrassing because trailer trucks were passing us – going up hill! Anyhow, we were getting pretty ass-worn & our eyeballs were starting to float. The Sikorsky H-34 we were flying was built in 1961 & was not fitted with a "relief tube." (Which most of the crewchiefs used to turn around anyway, to make it blow back up). As thanks for their anticipated hospitality, I had just purchased a few appropriate gifts for the Base & Squadron CO's, from Sgt. Grit: read more

And The Winners Are: Bandana Quilt

Quilts make a beautiful topper for any bed and are great for country picnics too. I love to sew and I make quilt tops from your handkerchiefs. They are set in blue and have the blood stripe around the edge. I have them professionally quilted at a local shop here in Nashville. I did not have a photo of a finished quilt so the photo attached was taken by the person who received this quilt as a gift. It is difficult to see the real beauty of this product with this limited view. When I finish the quilt I am working on now I will send you a full view photo. I'm glad you had this contest. I have wanted to share this idea with you for a while. I hope others will try this. Everyone who has seen my quilts love them. read more

Semper Fi from central Illinois. I’m enclosing 3 pictures of my daughter with the Marine Corps gear we had purchased from you. Totally satisfied with the quality and the price. Not to Mention how cute she looks. Just thought you would like to see our little addition to the Corps family. It’s ok if you would like to put this up on the website.

I am a dance and theatre artist in the St. Tammany Public School system in Louisiana. I service K – 5th grade students in various residencies. My son recently became a marine. I ordered a sculpture from you of the Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima. I intended to give it to my son as a present but before I did I used it in 2 different ways with the children I teach. read more
