My Marine – With Strength and Courage

My Marine
Kayla Judge

With strength and courage
He spends every single day
Fighting for our country
In many different ways

He stands guard with his rifle,
Not knowing what to expect
He has left behing his old life
Without any regrets

Daily prayers are said each night
To keep this loved one out of fright.
For he has gone so far from home
Always feeling as if he is alone read more

My Fallen Brothers

My Fallen Brothers
by Wm.H.Miller

There upon the forgotten battlefields
Where the dense jungle now grows
And there are no markers to even show
The final resting place of my fallen bothers
Nor the ultimate sacrifice made by so many others.

Though its been some thirty odd years
My memories and never ending dreams
Continue to flood my heart with pain filled tears.
There upon my chest they rest, the Purple Heart
And medals they awarded me,
But I would gladely trade them all
If only God would allow me to erase
Just one name there uopn that black

My Baby, My Son, My Marine

My Baby, My Son, My Marine
Tommy John

It all started in such a hurry
When you arrived 6 weeks early
On 91186
You thought you’d enter just for kicks

You were always full of fire
That made a mother tire
The one a little crazy

Cause you’re such an individual read more

Mom’s Marine

The look of wonder across his face

Throughout the years my height seemed to shrink
But none the less he did think
I still held grander and possessed all the skills
To make mountains move and leap any hill read more

A Mom’s Pride and Fear

A Mom’s Pride and Fear
Kelly Smith

The day you were born, my dear baby boy,
My world filled with delight, and my heart filled with joy.
That face full of innocence, your smile so bright,
I held your life in my arms, as I rocked you each night.
As I’d lay you to sleep, looking down with a tear,
I pondered your future, a mom’s pride and fear. read more

Just a Moment in time

JUST A MOMENT IN TIME
Murl D. Long

Those who knew me in my youth would say
He burned the candle at both ends, night and day
I would disagree, but that would be a waste
I just lived life, as though in haste

Certainly, there was an attempt to cram as much as I could
Into each day, sometimes more than I should
There is a question in my mind as to a premonition in my dreams
That this will come to an end, sooner than later, as it seems read more
