Jarhead Tattoos

Figured i would finally get around to sending in my tats now that i got a good camera. The chest tat is my favorite and deffinately has to be a one of a kind. was going to get the out line of P.I. but then thought when I think of the phrase “there’s no place like home” I think of the red shoes in the wizard of oz and thus the Yellow Footprints came to mind. My friends do not understand the footprints at all. On the barbwire one I have my platoon number from P.I. “1111” and the Marine b-day but hacd to add “Tun Tavern” above it as again with people they asked is that your b-day, and I tell them in a way yes it is. The other one has “Semper Fi” below it with “84” and above it had “Jarhead” put on (my NH license plate says Jarhead too). SEMPER FI, Bill J. read more

Emblem with Stars Tattoo

My name is Shannon H. I am from Pensacola Fl. I got my tattoo a few months ago it is on the top of my right foot. Yeah it hurt some but as they say Pain is temp, Pride is forever, and Pain is weakness leaving the body. I am very proud of my tattoo, I got it in honor of my heart my hero my best friend who is currently serving in the USMC, and in memory of my Marine friend that I lost Oct 23, 2005 in Iraq. I am not military but my uncles both were and I have a huge respect and appreciation for what all the men and women of the military do and stand for. I wanted to join the Marines but unfortunately a car accident has kept me from being able to join but I live my life like the men and women of the Marine Corps with HONOR, COURAGE, and COMMITTMENT!! OORAH! And Semper Fi! read more

Roses and Dog Tags Tattoo

I have this awesome tattoo that I would love to share. I however am not in the Marine Corps….just a very proud wife! I support my husband 200% in his choice of being a Marine. He has been in for 14 years this July and I’m still proud of him and love the lifestyle and the life we have made together! Anyways, this is my tattoo….it is his dogs tags to support him. One has his dog tag information and the other one has the same information as the other, only I changed out the SSN on the one and put in our wedding date. The Red Roses are the Marine Corps spouses flower…so the circles around my ankles and falls down the front….to show that no matter what we are always one…..and the cross is to show our faith in our marriage and god! I hope you add it to the growing display of other tattoos! Jaclyn K Jones read more

Thanks so much and tattoo pic from a Marine mom

Hi, I wanted to say thank you so much for all the effort everyone at St. Grit’s puts into honoring our Marine Corps. As a Marine mother it means so very much to me that the men that put their lives on the line for us willingly every day are given our thanks however we can give them. I also want to thank everyone who sends in stories and thanks for you to publish. Many of them have touched my heart. As the mother of a LCpl with the 3/7 who is currently serving his second tour in Iraq I wanted to share a picture of my tattoo with you. I got it when he returned safely from his first tour in Ramadi. I am truly proud of my son and all of the 3/7, many who have become like sons to me. They and the rest of our Marines are in my prayers daily. Thank YOU and Semper Fidelis! Tami Becker read more
