28 Years After Earning the Title “Marine”…
When my recruiter picked me up to take me off to boot camp at 0200 hours, my father made me promise him that I would not get a tattoo while I was in the Corps. “Think about a while; don’t do it just because everyone else is; it should mean something to you if you do it”. I became a Marine when I graduated boot camp in May of 1983. My dad was a WWII US Navy veteran and passed away this past March. So, after thinking about it for 28 years, I finally got my tattoo. My EGA is also a tribute to my dad; since he was a Navy veteran, his initials appear on my EGA’s anchor. He was the anchor of my family as well. Semper Fi and God Bless America.
