Carried Around the Design for 20 Years!

I got the Devil Dog in 1984 while stationed back at Parris Island waiting for my Intel School to begin. 20 years later (January 2004) I added the Aircrew Wings over the American Flag backdrop from my time as a gunner with HMH-462.

If my wife doesn't divorce me I'll find a way to incorporate my time as a Water Survival Instructor into a future tattoo as well! read more

Honor Thy Grandfathers

My name is Tina Dunn. My son, LCpl Dunn. is in the 2d FAST Co. out of Yorktown, VA. I have seen your newsletter and the on the internet of the tattoos that people are sending to you. I thought I would share with you my sons. He decided to get this tattoo last year. He left for Boot Camp in 2002, just 3 days after his High School Graduation. He was so proud to go his father and I actually signed him in early because of him being to young. He wanted this tattoo so bad. He wanted to Honor both of his Grandfathers. Both grandfathers had served time in the United States Army. Also both grandfathers are deceased so he wanted to honor them in some way. He thought this was the best way. I must say after he got it, It may me proud that he would want his grandfathers names on his arm forever. He is very proud of this tattoo. I hope you will enjoy looking at it. read more

Couldn’t go buy Beer!

I must have walked into a 100 Tattoo shops while on active duty with the plan to get a tat. But every time I asked about the cost, it seemed like a better idea to spend the money on beer! Last Sept 2003, after being out for a little more then 10 years, my three sons forced me down to the Tattoo shop and made me get this one. They paid for it, so I could not go spend the money on beer. read more

A Promise of Gunny Stripes

This is myself( Gunnery Sergeant Davis and one of my boys( Sgt Mortenson) and a recent NBC school. He decided to get his first Moto Tat and I was getting my Fourth. I told myself a long time ago when I had the great misfortune to stand in front of the old man and get a backwards promotion( Lcpl to Pvt) that some day I would be a Gunny and when that happened I would get Gunny Stripes tattooed on my ass. Lucky for me I did make it and also lucky for me I matured and decided to get it on my arm instead. read more
