I enclosed a photo, don’t remember who took it, or where the camera came from, the day we “finished” P.I. 29 December 1958. No graduation, etc. Note the 3rd Bn huts… I’m in the middle of the photo, the handsome, squared away one…
Will always remember hearing Sgt Baggett yelling “347”, we screamed the reply “347”, then “GET OUTSIDE!”

Health to our friends,
Confusion to our enemies.
I just can’t forget thoes days and never want to. I like the green fatigues from the old Corp better than the camo they have now. Does anyone agree? 1972 -1974 USMC
I agree 1969-1971 USMC
These are the Same 3rd Bn Quonset Huts I had in 1967. Plt 376
Hey Gomer, the Quonset at P.I. Were gone by 67. Paul 3rd herd PI 66
Quouset huts in 3rd Bn.
January 1960 I was in Plt 305 we were in the huts until two weeks before graduation in March.
Then we were moved into the new barracks.
Those new barracks [1960] have now been replaced.
Not fatigues. They were called utilities.

Your right my mistake
It got a lot worse in August of 1955 platoon 97
The picture of the Quonset huts reminds me of being a kid living in the West End area where the 3rd RTB was billeted. We, my young neighbor hood buddies, would ride our bicycles around and through the areas not occupied with training platoons. This was from 1956 to 1958. Had a fun time doing it. Found some interesting pieces of 782 gear in the empty huts.
