Need help finding a store

I am trying to find more information on the below story.  I will give you as many details as I can in hopes that someone can clarify for me.  I have tried to find the story online and I have been unsuccessful.  Here we go.

In 2002, I was told a story from an old Marine.  I being a Marine myself, was very interested in the story and eager to hear more.  The old Marine told me that he tells his story on Parris Island to recruits of what happened to him in Vietnam.  This is what I remember.

First name I believe is Rudolph.  His story is that the day he arrived in Vietnam his fire team Captain was killed.  Shortly after his platoon or squad, whichever, were on a march.  He stated that they were out for days it seems when they came under attack from the Vietnamese.  He said that his whole unit was kill except for him and one other Marine.  He stated that he journeyed through the jungle for 58 days, living off of stagnant water in puddles and monkey meat from a monkey they killed.  He showed me a newspaper clipping with a picture of them when they were rescued.  He stated that they walked up on a unit of green berets and that's how they were rescued.  Please, if anyone knows this story, has heard it or can give me more information, I would be very grateful.
