Australia OKs Women in Combat

Australian women can serve in combat, thanks to a new measure approved by the government that allows females to join infantry units on the front lines.

“This is a change which has the strong support from the chief of the Defense Force,” said Defense Minister Stephen Smith. “In the future your role in the Defense Force will be determined on your ability, not on the basis of your sex.”
