I was on hill 55 on Thanksgiving day with my plt. standing by to fly out on a Sparel Hawk! My Bn 3/7 was on hill 37 and the 7th Marines HQ was on hill 55.
We had our dinner on Hill 55 and it was great! I still have the program cover after all these 47 years.
Got in vietnam july 1970 was with India Co.,1st Mar Div., 1st plt. Didnt remember any turkey dinner at FSB Ross or LZ Baldy. I was in the bush most of the time with Dark Horse 3/5. Semper Fi. Get Some.

I remember the Thanksgiving menu when I was in ITR. Also, it was a two star general who came to our platoon. We had turkey of course and something I had never had, lobster. The meal was fabulous and it was the first time I ever saw or was spoken to by a general. Both great memories.

Sometime in October, Lakeline Oaks Retirement Community residents Jim Taylor and Tom Sewell were reminiscing about past Marine Corps celebrations commemorating the birthday of our Corps.
At age seventy-one and having been searching absolutely everywhere, I have yet yo find my grad book or because I was told that it got reprinted but was issued with the wrong numbers, also unable to find more info on that. Even my DI's can't be found.
A fresh, original style insignia. Next session will be the background to match my shoulder.
