Beautiful Women Marines

In response to Cpl J Baerncopf’s story about the WM 1st Lieutenant at Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Policy on the Salute, I’m reminded of AWS at Quantico in 1995. As a reservist, AWS was held over two summers. It was my Phase I in 1995 when I saw her — Major C C from NYC, who was in Phase 2. Tall, drop-dead gorgeous, red-headed Irish beauty. She was a ’10’ in any male Marine’s book. I think she was with 6th Comm in NYC. She was not, however, just beautiful. She was intelligent, quick-witted, with a smile which lit up the heavens, and a ‘hard-body’ who worked out every day in the gym. It was love at first sight! On the last day of the Phase, I knew she had graduated and would not be back in my next Phase, so I purposely waited outside the building so I could salute her as she came out. I forget the exact words of her response to my salute but I think I floated on air the rest of the day! Alas, as I expected, I never saw her again….I hope she’s well and happy today!

  1. Not sure but, something about your dress blues doesn’t look right Dudley. Could be just me. Anyway just found new meaning to a brick ,you know what! Nick

    1. The two top tunic buttons are missing or not buttoned. Semper Fi!!! Top Pro

  2. So… That’s not her in the photo?! If so she is definitely out of uniform. I’d still offer her a salute though. Bill 0331

  3. Was told in my early career in the Corps by a Sergeant that 95% of WMs were good looking, but that one would only be stationed with the other 5%!! I must say though that during boot camp at PI in 1965, I along with several others were selected to work the mess hall at the WM barracks. Now I’m here to tell you that we served 3 meals a day to some 100 or more (don’t remember the exact number) WM boots. With the short pixie hair do, baggy cloths and not a hint of makeup, there weren’t very many pretty gals if any!! Now as for those ladies who were now full fledged Marines with hair in place, makeup and fitted uniforms, it was a sight to behold. But God forbid if one were caught eyeballing and of the ladies, you just didn’t want to suffer the wrath of a WM DI!!! Yikes, they were scary in no uncertain terms!!!
On the bright side of being there though was the head chef and yes, I’ll call him a chef. That E-5 knew his way around a kitchen. His baking skills and cooking were first rate and he allowed us to eat as much as we wanted…I’m sure today he could easily run and rate a 5 star restaurant!!

    1. Hey Pete, when were you E-2/1? I was E Co Weapons , Dec 68- Jan 70. “Braut” Bill 0331

      1. Yes Bill….I was in E-2/1 mid 66 to early 67. Before that, went over with H-2/5 in Jan 66 and returned to H-2/5 in early 69!!! Welcome home brother and thanks for your service!!!…Pete C.
