Kuwait Oil Fires

To those who are veterans of Desert Shield/Storm, this may be a sight you may remember.  I've had it in my dreams for over 20 yrs and needed to "exercise it out of me", or at least make an attempt to paint what I remember.  I feel like I succeeded in that it has become a great focal point for me to just sit back and get lost in it.  2'x4' Acryclic on MDF. read more

Siesta Key, FL – Iwo Jima Sand Sculpture

Sgt. Grit, A friend of mine was in Siesta Key from 11/11/11 thru 11/15/11.  The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce held their 2nd annual Crystal Classic Sand Sculpture competition.  This is but one of the sculptures that was of the only interest to me that I thought was worth sharing on your web site/newsletter, especially since it was the Corps birthday week.   Semper Fi. Iwo Jima Mural

I wanted to share a story with my fellow Marines.

On Friday, November 11, 2011 in downtown Amherst, Ohio in northern Ohio there will be a dedication of a mural depiction of the famous second flag raising on Mt. Suribachi.  This is my hometown, the town I grew up in and the town I currently live.  There has been an article on the Leatherneck magazine website and there will be more articles and hopefully some national news.  I was not involved in any way with this, but, am taking the day off work to attend.  This mural is the only one like it in the United States.  It's the day after our 236th Birthday.  I am proud of my town of Amherst and I am proud of being a Marine and of the Corps.  Semper Fi.   read more

Dress Blues Pumpkin

Hello being  a former marine my family receives your catalog regularly, and noticed you have a photo contest. My son Brandon Devlin is a cadet in the MCJROTC program in South Iredell High School and will be attending the Marine Corps ball again this year through the program. Between Halloween Thanksgiving and the Marine Corps birthday my wife was inspired to honor my son’s commit to the Marine Corps and create this little master piece. Her photo was selected to be featured in our local newspaper and I was hoping that maybe you can find a small spot in your upcoming issue to add one of these pictures. Her master piece is titled “Boo Rah” Semper Fi    Regard Bill Devlin
