Aubrey Headon, age 14 from Rochelle, Illinois stopped in to visit us here in OKC while attending the Endeavor Games. She is in the preparatory events for the Paraolympic team. She holds the world record for the long jump and is on her way to London next for more events. Aubrey loves the Marine Corps! Her grandfather, SSgt Lyle Headon of 1st Amtracks '64-'68 inspired this love in her. She eats, sleeps and breathes the Corps and has since about age 3. She wears Marine Corps anything she can get her hands on. Aubrey ran on 7 June 2014 at the games in honor of LCpl Alec E. Catherwood, KIA from Darkhorse 3/5, Afghanistan 10-14-2010.

TBS Class 6-67 Class Reunion
Attached are several photos of the memorial I put together for the guys KIA from our class. I suspended the dog tags you folks made on a cross bar. Everyone was impressed especially the family members of the fallen. I told the families to take home their guys tag. The memorial was looked at a lot by everyone. We had over 200 class members and family at the reunion. I made sure to tell everyone who did the dog tags. Thank you so much for giving me the deal on those tags. The memorial was a labor of love.
Treasured Addition To My Office
Late in 2013, my son, James Wolter Jr. (Jimmy) had started a project with the help of Sgt. Grit to create a shadow box of medals for my birthday in April 2014. I had no idea what he was doing, but with my wife's help, he was able to get pictures of my medals and other USMC item that I display in my office along with those of both my sons.
Power Strips 4 Troops
Powerstrips4troops.org was created by Marine Veteran Dave Waller after he suffered a debilitating injury while serving as a Marine Security Guard at the U.S. Embassy in Morocco. Power Strips are unique, herbal pain relief patches. The Power Strips are listed as a Class 1 Medical Device by the FDA because of their ability to provide temporary relief of minor aches and pains. The are patented and doctor formulated.
Like Father, Like Daughter
Lance Corporal Bill Schell (Marines 1983-1986) taking his "Major Princess" to the VA with him. Like father like daughter. Semper Fi Marines!

Proud Dad Of A U.S. Marine
I put these on my truck in November when my son LCPL Vincent Smejkal, US Marine was deployed to Afghanistan. Lots of people make comments, some good – some not so good, but that's why my son is there to allow people their freedom to say what they want. There are a few names I've written down of those that have made fun of what I have on my truck… I plan to have my son pay a visit to them when he gets back to discuss it.
Major Times Three
Here goes…
I was commissioned thru the Regular NROTC program at the U. of Minnesota in 1963 and, of course, joined the Marines. (I decided to be a Marine when I was 8 years old.) I was the SupO for the 2d Radio Bn, then served 2 "wonderful" years of sea duty aboard the USS Wright, CC-2 (C.O. of the Marine Detachment). Then my wife "convinced" me to leave the regulars, and so I went right into the active reserves (Supply Management Officer for the 4th Marine Division; and finally as a Major, Company Commander, India Co, 3d Bn., 24th Marines. (Never went to Vietnam – 2 sets of orders to WestPac (Viet Nam); both cancelled.) I had an NSG top secret clearance, and the Navy NSG did not want to risk Marine junior officers getting captured… which did happen in 1965 …bummer). And LBJ would not call up the Reserve 4th Marine Division. (15 years).
Blue And White Dress
The last word re: Blue and white dress blue covers – The white is/was summer, the blue was winter. A number of uniforms are no longer available: (Officer) Dress whites, mess dress are two. Now in place of the dress whites (see attached for my wedding picture with my mother) the dress blue blouse is worn with white trousers for summer.
Family Treasures
This is the picture I mentioned that is signed "To The Kemp Kids from John Wayne". We got it after the Intermountain Premiere of "Sands Of Iwo Jima" in Salt Lake City. My father was the senior SNCO (MSgt) for the intermountain recruiting district and was heavily involved in the whole deal. At the studio party, all of the Marines from the recruiting station were there in dress blues. Dad was matching the Duke drink for drink and asked for a good photo. This is the one we got. It is 11×14 and the only pose I have ever seen but the interesting thing is how the ink got smeared when the ball point pen didn't work at first. It is one of our family treasures.
