Not sure if you remember Me or not but I was a recruiter out of Recruiting Sub Station Wausau, Wi. I recently Got Transferred to La Crosse, WI to take over as the SNCOIC (Boss). I was just wondering if it would be possible to get the Poolie of Marines Box down here as well. We enlist approx 7 kids per month at this station. Also I included a couple pictures of our Mascot (chesty) I was thinking Maybe you could put him in the Magazine 🙂 Anyways thank you so much for all of your help both in the Past and in the Future!!

Another Iwo Jima Marine Answers Final Roll Call
Sgt. Grit,
My father, Cpl. Jose A. Dominguez, 876815, passed from this life on 11 December in Downey, CA. As a 19-year old he landed with F/2/26/5th MarDiv on Iwo Jima 19 February 1945. He fought through to the push to secure the final third of the island and was wounded 14 March 1945 by shrapnel from two mortar rounds. He was evacuated from the island and spent the next several months in hospitals in Hawaii, Oakland, CA, and San Diego, CA. He was honorably discharged on 5 November 1945.
Jim Amos in Afghanistan For Christmas
General Amos, Commandant of the Marine Corps, in Afghanistan for Christmas visiting the Third Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, First Marine Division. The troops really appreciated the time he spent with them as you can see.
L/Cpl James B. Wolter Jr.
My youngest son L/Cpl James B. Wolter Jr. is serving with 2nd LAR in Afghanstan. I sent him my American Flag thinking that he would keep it safe in his gear. I wanted him to have it as a daily reminder of just what they were fighting for. Little did I know that he would honor his old man in such a way. See, I carried this flag through my 4 years as a MARINE also. Do we need a better recruiting poster? I have this picture as my computer wallpaper, as my home screen on my Blackberry, frames at work and another at home. People now run and hide as I pull out my Blackberry uttering the famous words, " Have I shown You my Sons Picture?" Proud Papa??? You think?

Vietnam Fiction – Episode 1 – You’ll Love Iwakuni
Episode 1 – You'll love Iwakuni
Gunnery Sergeant Vince Spalding, USMC, and I were settling in for Friday night happy hour at the Iwakuni MCAS Staff NCO Club. Iwakuni is a major air station with a large contingent of Marine squadrons occupying one side of the airstrip. Navy VP aircraft and JDSDF forces were also sharing the facilities. Iwakuni makes an ideal Marine Corps location because not only did it have an air station but also a deep water port which made it possible for AKAs, APAs, LSDs, LPHs, LSTs and carriers to embark Marine aircraft, equipment and personal with a minimum of delay.

Proud To Be Enlisted
Sgt. Grit,
I am writing this letter to say that i am newly enlisted in the USMC (040716) and I am seventeen years-old. I have been wanting to be a Marine since i was in 8th grade, and I am now currently an early grad (dec 04) and I am set to ship out in feb 05. I have worked extremely hard to graduate ahead of my class so I set out to achieve my goal of claiming the title of the few and the proud. The USMC has become such a part of my life that I am now currently doing art based around the marine corps. I have enclosed a few dif. pictures of my piece entitled, "The DI Creed" I hope you enjoy these as much as my recruiter does. Thanks…Semper Fi!
