I am enclosing a copper EGA I made in honor of my son who is graduating from Parris Island on Oct 16TH, 2009.. Being a Marine from 1969 to 1970, I could not think of a better way to express how proud I am of him then making this EGA which He has earned 40 years after I did.. There will always be the bond of going through Parris Island that only the few and proud share and that is one thing I will always share with my son.

USMC Pumpkin pattern
My fiance' LCpl Josh Fisher is currently in Afghanistan, so I've been trying to find different ways to stay busy and with this time of season, fall and Halloween I went on a search for a USMC pumpkin pattern. Alas I found none. So I got creative and made my own and it turned out better than I could have ever expected. I just wanted to share those pictures with everyone.

Paintings
Hello Sgt. Grit, I am a World War ll Marine and a self taught portrait painter. "Hq-3-25-4th div." Because I am able to do that, I am now on what I call a mission. I paint portraits in oil and give them to the parents and wifes of our "Fallen Hero's" free of charge. It is hard to fined parents or wifes that want a painting, so I was wondering if you or someone that you know can help. I will give you my address and e-mail address and if you can find anyone that want a painting, tell them to get in touch with me. Threw in a photo of me helping cut the birthday cake. "Oldest 86 and youngest Marine at the party." The other photos are of some of my paintings I did for parents. I did 15 so far.
Enduring Freedom Marine Memorial
Dear Sgt. Grit,
I never served my country in the military but I, like millions of other Americans, deeply respect the sacrifices that our military men and women have made defending the United States; especially the Marines. I wanted to do something to show that respect.

Art Work & Tattoo
Sgt. Grit,
I am the mother of two fine men who both have the honor of being called United States Marines! My oldest son, Cpl. Jonathan Rolfes, served from 2003 to 2008. Jonathan fought with 1st Recon. in Iraq for three deployments. His claim to fame is on the internet following a mishap with a Camel Spider! You can actually see his bite/wound at: http://www.camelspiders.net/camel-spider-bite.htm. My other son, LCpl. David Rolfes, joined the Marine Corps in 2008; just months after his brother got home! David is currently on his first deployment over seas in Afghanistan. He is serving with 1/6 2nd Marine Div., H&S Co., Motor-T Platoon. Before leaving to Afghanistan, David went out and got himself a new tattoo. The tattoo is an image of a soldiers hands in prayer while holding his precious rosary. I wanted to share with you the shadowbox picture frame that I painted; using the image of my son, the United States Flag, and his tattoo. I am very proud of both of my sons.
Top’s Snow Removal Device, USMC Model #1 for Newsletter
FELLOW MARIINES,
I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW SNOW SHOVEL THE OTHER DAY, SINCE MY OLD ONE CAME UP MISSING. I WENT TO MY LOCAL HARDWARE TO FIND JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. THE BEGINNING OF A NEW CREATION. THERE STOOD BEFORE MY MARINE CORPS EYES, A DRESS BLUE SHOVEL, WAITING TO BE FURTHER CREATED. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS ADD AN NCO STRIPE AND TWO GOLD MARINE CORPS EMBLEMS FACING INBOARD, OF COURSE. MY WIFE AND NEIGHBORS THINK I AM OVER THE EDGE, BUT HOW CAN YOU HAVE TOO MANY MARINE CORPS POSSESIONS??? SO IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF A MARINE CORPS SHOVEL, GO GET THE BLUE ONE AND GET TO WORK. IT LOOKS ALMOST TO GOOD TO USE. I HAVE IT SITTING IN MY LIVING ROOM.
