Just before going to Nam, a bunch of us Grunts went to town (Oceanside) to get a tattoo. There was enough time for only about half of us to get them that night. Those of us who did not get them figured that we would return the following weekend. That week we received orders for Nam and were confined to barracks. I always figured that I would eventually get one. This past holiday season, I had a few days on hand with not much to do. I finally went and got the tattoo I planned to get in 1969. I surprised everyone.

Devil Duck
The U.S.M.C. came in 73. 30 years later my son thought it was time to finish the original. D.I. Donald or Devil Duck? Either way, I have not seen another quite like it.

50th Birthday Gift
When I received my discharge from the Corps (worst mistake I ever made) in '73 I moved in with my best friend from my unit (Drum & Bugle Corps). He got a Marine tattoo in '75 & tried to convince me to do the same. Well, as things go, I got married and my wife told me that if I got a tattoo, I could move back in with my friend. Years went by. By this time I had two great sons that wanted to fulfill my wish. For my 50th birthday they surprised me by throwing me in the car and stopping at a great tattoo parlor. To make a long story short, I borrowed one of your logos and now I have a great symbol of the Corps on my right shoulder. My wife knew what our sons were going to do and actually APPROVED! She likes it and I love it. I hope that you don't mind if I used your design, but what the hell, it's too late now. Semper Fi!

Here is a couple of tattoos I'm real proud of. I had these done about 4 months ago, about 35 years after I was discharged. I love the reaction I get when I have a tank top on or my swimming suit. I was in the 1st Marine Brigade out of Kanaheo Bay in Oahu. We bugged out for Viet Nam and all 10,000 of us joint up with the 3rd Marines and landed on red beach March 1965. I was a gunner on a 81mm motor, mos 0341 and love every bit of it. I'm 56 years old and couldn't be prouder – I'm as gung ho now as I was back in 2/63 when I joined. Semper Fi to all.
Something Different
Been out over twenty years. Wanted something a little different than the traditional Eagle, Globe and Anchor.
