Father’s and Sons’ Tattoos

I saw father and son Marine Corps emblem tattoo on these pages a few months ago when my sons were in Boot Camp in San Diego and I got the idea to get something similar. Three weeks ago I told my sons I was going to get this tattoo but I don’t think they believed me as I was in the Corps for 22 years and never got one.

When my Leatherneck sons came home for July 4th weekend the first thing they wanted to see was my tattoo! The next day they looked at it again and asked me how it felt. They decided they too, would 'get some ink'.

I took them to the same tattoo parlor that did mine, Inksmith & Rogers in Orange Park, Florida. They opted to go without color. My son Louie said "Dad, I don't rate color yet, I'm not an NCO." I laughed, 'cause in my eyes they rate EVERYTHING!

We took this photo in our back yard on July 4th, 2006.
