Learned this ditty and a afew other colorful tunes from old salts in OCS 1961 . Officers and NCOs at nickel nights and happy hours. Still grinning.
ATTENTION MARINES, I’ve been trying to get the words to a song we sang at ASP 1 DaNang 1965/66. Sung to the tune of Davy Crockett. 1st verse- born on a shelter half at Camp Lejuene eating c-rations from a plastic spoon, father was a gunny, mother was a bam that’s why I’m in the shape I am.
