J DuganDivine Intervention
By Kristy Fomin
It could only be “divine intervention” that brought SSgt Nathaniel Watrous to our store on October 5th. SSgt Watrous and his wife along with their dog Penelope were passing through Oklahoma City on their way to California to report for Recruiting school when they got lost and turned around, then lo and behold! awwwwwww, the clouds parted and the light was bright when SSgt looks up and sees the Sgt Grit sign. He couldn’t believe it, right in front of him is his favorite store to shop for Marine Corps items. He had no intention of coming here, he didn’t even know it was located in Okc; immediately he says to his wife “we are stopping!”

Da Nang Pic’s
Just read the post by Choo Choo with pictures of MAG-11. Thanks for bringing back old memories of when I was with the seat shop in VMFA-542 during 68-69. The hangar that displays the VMO-2 sign with all the holes was VMFA-542's home just prior. The holes bring back the eeire feelings I had back then. Thank you for the photos. Everything is the way I remember it.

Many of the remaining captured aircraft have yet to arrive. Our thanks to the Freeman Army Airfield Museum who provided the video.

Retired Marine’s eyesight is saved with proton treatment in Oklahoma City
Debra Fortune took the news of the brain tumor like a Marine.
She'd earlier developed an odd, super-sense of smell. Her more alarming symptoms were a headache on the right side and gradual vision loss in her right eye. A rare type of tumor was stealing her eyesight as it wrapped around an optic nerve, doctors found. The tumor's pressure against the smell-registering olfactory nerve had given her a super nose.
