Haven't seen anything on Amtrac lately, so I'm sending some pictures taken in 1968-69 around the Cua Viet area. Maybe someone can recognize them self or know who they are, In the first picture the guy standing in the hatch I think his name is Richard Hill from Calif.

Father (Fox Hole) Kelly
Father Francis W. Kelly, Chaplain, U.S.N.served with the Marines at Talagi, then at Guadalcanal. After Guadalcanal he went with the 2nd Marine Regiment to Wellington where he officiated at Masses, Confessions, and problems common with MIlitary men at Wellington, New Zealand. His duties included going on Practice Combat Landings with the Marines as they prepared for the next Island Battle.

I wanted to write to you about a home coming the way they all should be done. LCpl Brandon Long and my son, Cpl Justin Smith, went to basic and OSI training together. After OSI they went onto separate paths. My son went to Charlie Fast 5th platoon, and Brandon went into infantry.

CAMP BASTION, Afghanistan — Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 awarded 18 Marines with combat aircrew wings at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, Aug. 26.
The combat wings signify service in a combat environment, compared to the basic wings all aircrew receive when their initial training is complete. The crew chiefs of HMLA-267 who received their combat aircrew wings have each flown more than 170 combat mission hours with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward).

Took me 38 years but I got it , My Best friend an Brother Marine of 49 years was suppose to get one with me but Mike passed on 30 August 2010 at the age of 55 . He was in the Airwing I used to bust his nuts about his MOS he was a 3051 supply clerk, I told him they made a mistake he should have been a 0351 rockets . Because I was an 0341 81’s .
