I found this picture on a site called "You drive what?"

I had to send it for the newsletter or blog & ask "How is your retirement looking?"
Sgt Grit is a place where Marines can come and meet other Marines, share tattoos and stories, keep up with Marine Corps news, or shop for USMC gear.

This is just a picture of my best friend (Since 1963), Michael Scott Hanks, seated, and myself in South Vietnam in February of 1970. We're still best friends today. The next 2 pics show us in 2010 on top of Lewis Peak east of Ogden, Utah. Mike is the one with the hat.—Larry Vern Anderson Semper Fi
This picture was taken of me at the Oregon State Fair in 1995. We (the Marine Band in 29 Palms) did a series of concerts there everyday during the fair and I had a wireless transmitter on my guitar that allowed me to run through the crowd while we did Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”.
We have had several stories about General Gray the last few weeks. I have been a fan of his since I saw a 60 Minutes segment on him in 1988. I am not a letter writer to organizations, people, nothing. But the 60 Minute segment impressed me so much I was moved to write him. I received this letter in return.
Semper Fi for my Marine
“Whatever is mine is his,” Marine Corps Pfc. Colton W. Rusk wrote about Eli, his military working dog, in the final days of their deployment in Afghanistan. On Feb. 3, Private Rusk's family helped prove his words true when they adopted the black Labrador retriever in a retirement and adoption ceremony at the military working dog school here.
A bit of Marine Corps history that I will bet you did not know about. The reenactment of Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg in 1921 for President Harding. Generals Black Jack Pershing of the Army and Smedley D. Butler and John A. Lejeune were there with two [regiments] of Marines.
A semi-old school flash style piece done in Okinawa, Japan at the Ryukyu Family Tattoo Shop after my third combat deployment in Afghanistan 2009.
I finally got the tattoo that says it all for my Marine Corps Service. 33 years after my discharge, I had my tattoo design and work done by Mr. Don Nolan of Acme Tattoo in St Paul MN. One set of stars represents my years of service, the other set is for my Grandfather Mike, my brothers Rick and Joe, who like me, served our Country and Corps with honor. A special thanks to my co-worker Michele who told me about Acme Tattoo. Semper Fidelis!
