  1. Now THAT is how the uniform is to be worn!! Proper military alignment, highly polished brass, ribbon alignment and spacing. Can’t see any “Russian ropes or Chinese pennants” as our drill insteuctors used to say. Two squared away, make me proud Marines. Semper Fi’ Gunny Mom…you done good!

  2. Just super. Wish many times I would have gone into the reserve after RVN. My Father was a lifer and mustanger. WWII and Korean Conflict. 1st Mar. Div. He passed away March 2006. Still think of him often. Semper Fi.

  3. I thought she was his date Good looking WM. I WAS PROUD WHEN MY SON BECAME A MARINE 93′. 98′. I can just wonder how he feels about his Mom being a MARINE

  4. Two good looking Marines!!! Makes me so proud to see such good looking marines in their dress blues. Lcpl 75-79 2/6 Camp Lejune

  5. Gunny Sgt “Mom”D.A. Fortune I congratulate you on your squared away appearance and on that young handsome Marine of a son. It would have been acceptable if you would have put your right arm under his left arm but then you are a Gunnery Sgt and you certainly don’t need anybody saying your showing favoritism even if he is your offspring. This picture made me feel proud and privileged to be a Marine (71-76). Kind regards……Leathernecks!!!

  6. Squared away Marines. You did good Gunny . SEMPER-FI !

  7. Great picture of two squared away Marines. Makes me proud to have served from 54-75 and retired as a Mustang.

  8. Semper Fi. Glad to see Marines keepinp up the squared away look of the Corps.

  9. Love those Dress Blues! Best looking uniform in the military and I won mine out of boot camp in 1970, Platoon 1156 San Diego – Platoon Honorman, Series Honorman. Hate to say it but a fellow Marine stole them from me in the Philippines. They were stored in our A/C storage room and our Company Clerk, the only one who had access, absconded with them. When I was headed back stateside and went to get them they were gone. Sure miss having them, especially seeing how good the two of you look in them. Semper FI!

  10. Hey Guns – Outstanding Job !!! You both fit the “Blues” Poster Image just beautifully. Thank you both for your service & sacrifices. Semper Fi !
