Sgt Sean P Armstrong

Hello to all Marines! My sad news is that my son Sean P Armstrong, who served in the Marine Corp. from 1993-2002 has passed away. He graduated from Camp Lejeune, NC. My heart is broken and I will never be the same without him. He was my life. He was going to the VA for help at the time of his death but whatever was wrong with him they apparently couldn’t fix. This all happened in January and we are still waiting to hear what/why he passed away. I am so hurt that I couldn’t have his service until now. I hope I’m strong enough to handle it. I’ve looked through his belongings and he still has so much of his Marine gear. I was told to donate all the uniforms, including the dress blues to the VFW. We were told they use the uniforms for parades. I had all his military uniforms cleaned at a local cleaners who charged me half off because they were being donated. (wonderful, thoughtful and caring people) He left two graduation books which I would like to give to someone who graduated at that time and couldn’t afford the book or have lost theirs. I don’t want any of his things to go to waste. He and every Marine deserves better. I remember when he was in boot camp he told me that one of his DI’s name was Armstrong. If there is anyone out there that remembers this DI or was in at that time please contact me with more information that would match what I have and I would be glad to send you a book. Thanks! Semper Fi

  4. I am so very sorry for your lost. I pray you find the answers that and your family deserve. My husband, Retired MSGT Robert Casto (32yrs), belongs to a Honors Detachment that does over 200 military funerals a year, they would be honored to have your son’s uniforms to pass to other Marine members that may not be able to purchase their own. We would pay for the shipping. Also our basement is a mini Marine Corps museum if you would like to “donate” something of your son’s, as other friends of our have. If you send me your email I will send you photos. Please accept our deepest condolences, he is now “Guarding the Gates of Heaven”. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! 330-730-6112. Tedi Casto

  11. Your loss is felt…..No father should have to through what you are now faced with. May the Goodness of your son’s life reflect in your life his mother’s life from now until then. May G-d watch over you and keep you! Amen!

  12. I work for a charity called S.O.S. which gives free rides to the Marines from the Palm Springs International Airport to the MCAGCC in 29 Palms, so I interact with our brave American Heroes frequently. I feel your pain over losing your son, and I will remember him every time I look into the eyes of those dedicated young warriors. I thank your son for his service and I share your pride. His legacy lives on in every one of the those fine young men and women who wear the uniform of The Corps!

    1. WOW !! In the early 70’s when so many were coming back from S E Asia and being stationed at 29 Palms, there was not much concern for us and how we got back to the base. Only the Vomit Comet !! God Bless you for giving our Brother marines a lift. Semper Fi

  13. Mr Armstrong; My condolences for the loss of your son and my brother. The VA is for its employees and job security. You can ask any VA employee if they would trade their health benefits for a veterans benefits and their answer would be not NO,but HELL NO.On more than one occasion,as I was kept waiting,I was told by VA personel that I was lucky they were taking care of me.I used to feel safe going to a VA facility. Now,I avoid them when ever I can and pay out of my own pocket for medical care.I just settled out a bill that the VA should of taken care since they were the ones who sent me to a civilian hospital. Now I am facing another charge off by another doctor.I have given up on VA healthcare.I have many friends who have no complaints w/the VA.I am glad they don’t…but I do have complaints. They waited over 2 years to give me open heart surgery after the civilian hospital they sent me to said I need immediate surgery. They were waiting for me to die.I eventually told them I am going to write my state senator and congressman.2 months after that, they operated on me.Again Sir,Your loss is also mine

  14. Our brother has fallen but not forgotten and will always be a part of this family. A HERO that has paid the ultimate price for Freedom, WE SALUTE YOU for supporting and sharing this painful loss. I hope your heart finds peace in his life and his beliefs. Semper Fi and God be with you!

  15. You are strong enough to handle it, Sir, you are the father of a Marine Sergeant. Semper Fi to you and your son.

  16. USMC–June 1966-Dec 1969 (Vietnam-’68-69). My deepest condolences to you and your family. When a Marine passes, though we might not have personally known him/her, we all feel the pain, the loss; and we honor that Marine, as well as the family. May God bless your Marine’s soul, may God bless your family, may God bless our beloved Marine Corps, and our great nation. I salute your son and thank him for his service & his sacrifices. Semper Fi.

  17. Our condolences and God’s blessings to you and your family. May he find peace in the hands of the Lord our God.

  18. Your son is in heaven with a lot of great Marines who went before him. I was a Navy Hospital Corpsman with 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battelion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969. I was and have been closer to the Marines then the Navy and I will always remember all my Marines. Those that did not come home with me, may they rest in peace and never will be forgotten. I am truly sorry for your loss. I also have 2 grown son’s and I do not know how I would handle their loss! Be strong for your wife and family and know that your son was a Marine and he was proud to be one. Semper Fi!

  19. My prayers are with you and your family. I am also a Marine(1967-1971). I was also in Nam(1968-1969) with the 1st Marine Div. When one of our fellow brother(s) pass, we all feel the lost.

  20. I’m so sorry for the loss of your son. May he find his next duty station at heavens gate peaceful where I’m sure he will be standing tall and proud when his father arrives to be by his side again. Semper Fi Sean. We’ve got the watch.

  21. Sorry to hear of the loss of your son. Even though I never met him, and it’s been 43 years since I was on active duty, I feel the loss of one Marine for a brother Marine. May the Lord be with you and your family. Always remember, we’ll be here for you.

  22. Dear Mr. Armstrong & Family, Prayers out to you and May your son “Have Fair Winds & Following Sea’s” on his journey to stand beside GOD as his duty here on earth is done. I know you are proud of him as all Marines are. We take care of our own. Sad to say however the VA like any Govt. run org. has no business with our health care. Two years ago I lost my friend & Tent Mate from VietNam, while he was waiting for the VA in Louisiana to have a Gall Bladder operation, when it ruptured and he died. He and I dodged Mortars and Rockets every night, and he had to come home to be killed by the VA 50 years later. I hope that our new President can do something more than Talk and Tweet about doing something with the VA. God bless you Sir,family,& Your Son. Semper Fidelis, Sgt. Jack Smith USMC 1965-72

    1. Right on Sgt.Jack!! And some citizens and some politicians, want gov health care for all!! How do you think that would work!! ?? Harry

  23. Sir, my sincere condolences on your loss. Be PROUD of your son’s patriotic USMC service, and be at peace knowing that your son is now at peace. Carry on as you would have wanted Sean to do, had your roles been reversed, Sir. Semper Fidelis.

  24. Mr. Anderson and Family. I am sorry for your loss. All Marines are family like no other, and we too will feel your loss. I am a Native American Marine in so.cal. we have a Veterans Pow Wow in November on Veterans day weekend. With your permission I would like to read your sons name at Veterans Roll call. I also say the names of fallen veterans that are mentors to me and since your son is my brother Marine it would be my honor and duty. This Pow Wow is to honor all veterans and also to help us heal. May the creator bless you and your family. All Fallen Marines will stand guard in Heaven, and he is in good company.

  25. If the Army and the Navy ever look on heavens scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines–including Sean Armstrong!

  26. My sincere condolense for your loss. My husband is a Vietnam vet, a Marine. Our prayers are with you and your family. Thank you for His service to a grateful nation and a safe free nation thanks to your son and those like him.

  27. Mr. Anderson, I know your pain and offer you my condolences and prayers. No words can comfort your heart. Having been in your boots, stand tall knowing your Son made a difference. Peace be with you.

  28. So sorry for your loss. I served from 1959 – 1965. Did not have to go to Nam. Both of my brothers were serving in Nam at that time and i was the surviving son. Last duty station was at Quantico Officer School as an instructor. Both of my brothers have gone to a better place. George, the Marine was captured by CASTRO’s brother and spend approx. 6 months in a POW camp in the jungles of Cuba. He was 6′ 4″ and weight just over 100# when he was released. Jack was a Navy pilot. I just turned 75 so my time is coming soon. SEMPER FI.

  29. I am so sorry for your loss my brother. Keep him in your heart and he will always be there beside you. May God keep his arms around you and your family. SEMPER FI. P.A. Pannelle Cpl. USMC 1960/66

  30. My condolences for your loss. May your son rest in peace and never be forgotten. I can’t imagine how you and your wife feel, just remember the good times you had with your son and how proud he was being a Marine.

  31. I lost a daughter years ago so my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. She was eight years old but it doesn’t matter if they’re eight or eighty nothing compares to the loss of a loved one, especially when it’s your child. God Bless and keep you and your family. Semper Fi.
