This is my first tattoo which I got at Mighty Joe's in North Carolina while attending School of Infantry in '89. I am proud to show it to everyone and proud to be a Marine with India 3/3. I served from 1989-1993 – Once a Marine, Always a Marine.
Here is a picture of my tattoo that I got in 1993. I was still in MOS school at Ft Devens MA. I think it helped me pick up my wife!
Here is a freehand tattoo from a friend of mine in Salt Lake City Utah. It is still not completed.
Whether physical, emotional, or fraternal, most of us have "our own unique USMC tattoo".

Here's my addition for your tattoo page. I was brain washed in ITR when the Troop Handlers said it would be destruction of government property if you got a tattoo, so I didn't. So after many ears of wanting a tattoo, I finally got one in '95. I have it on my upper left bicep and haven't regretted it one bit.
Here's a tattoo pic to add to you collection if you deem it suitable.
I enlisted in the Corps in 1964 at the age of 17. Becoming a cook was the farthest thing from my mind. However the Corps had a different idea. Although being in the Food Service MOS was not what I thought being a Marine was about, it was good duty and overall a great experience. Since I spent more time with a spatula and a chef's knife in my hands than with my M-14, I designed this tattoo using the Marine Rifle Expert badge and substituted the cooking utensils for the rifles. At the time, the cook's MOS number was 3371 and my nickname while on active duty was Lobby. It's a great souvenir of my past, as I've been a carpenter for the last 31 years. I look forward to receiving your newsletter. Thanks for your efforts.
