I am PROUD to have serves as a CORPSMAN with the Marines. In 1967, I was with Co. "B",First Batt. Fourth Marines.. We had one H=== Of A Fight. I lost one of my MEN, Five others were wounded, other that the one KIA, the rest of us made it. I could not have served with a BETTER group of Men. For this action, I recieved the Silver Star and Purple Heart. I wish I could given to to all MY MEN. To All My Brothers……. SEMPER FI "DOC"
USMC Custom
I wanted a USMC tat 20 years ago when I was active duty. Finally designed my own and had it done.
Here we go!
DI: RECRUIT! YOUR WEAPON RUSTED! THAT'S AN AUTOMATIC WEAPONS FAILURE!
Recruit(me): YES SIR!
DI: WHY THE F**K, DID YOU LET YOUR WEAPON RUST?
Recruit: THIS RECRUIT DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD EXCUSE SIR!
DI: You let your f**king weapon rust on my island? For that critical lapse in judgement, I am authorized, TO F**KING KILL YOU!
nothing more
To think you have been gone 3 months now today,
I just dont know what to do.
nothing more to see you home
to be wrap in your arms late at night
nothing more nothing less
to see that ring on my finger gives me hope
dear God bring my Marine home
Serving At Khe Sanh
I served with Kilo Company 3/26 on hill 861 during the siege of Khe Sanh. Those were some tough days for the Marines in the hill fights, but to be fair, the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force who served at the Combat Base proper got their share of BAD DAYS!!!
Drill Instructor sayings
My all-time favorite Drill Instructor saying was at our two weeks of ITS at Camp Pendleton (1977). DI Sgt. LaBree "duty babysitter", P.O.'ed at us, stormed into the squad bay yelling "I HAVE A CARD IN MYYY DUTY HUT THAT SAYS WHAT I CANNNN AND CAN-NOT DO TO YOU…PRIVATES! ABOUT THE ONLY THING I CAN'T DO TO YOU—–ISSS THROW YOU OFF A THIRD STORY BUILDING……….YOU BETTER PRAY TO GOD WE STAY ON THE THIRD STORY!!!!!!

Otter
Hey Sergeant Grit, I see in the last supply letter there was a picture from Cpl. Lou Albert standing by an Ontos. I’m fairly sure the vehicle is an Otter. here is a picture of what is left of an Otter destroyed in it’s revetment by an NVA shell at Khe Sanh about March or April ‘68. R/S Cpl. Ted Picado 2183987
