I recently joined the Patriot Guard Riders. Had a mission in Tulsa, OK. Flag Line and Escort to Memorial Park, from a church. A deceased Marine of the Korean War Era. I understand it was unusual, that the family asked the Guard to transport the ashes to cemetery. For the service, a Prior Service Marine and two other riders carried the urn into the chapel and we escorted. After service, same guys carried it out and we escorted. Being a Prior Service Marine myself, I was honored, to be asked to escort the urn in a PGR's truck, with a daughter and great-grandson, who held folded flag.

Mural in Amherst, OH
A while back I submitted a picture regarding a mural painted on the side of s building in my home town of Amherst, Ohio. That first picture was of the famous photo of the second flag raising on Iwo Jima. The same young artist is almost complete a second mural on the same building of a painting of the Vietnam Memorial. The young man is amazingly talented and those murals deserve to be viewed and admired by as many people as possible.

1st Sgt Rick Blish
Another Marine entered Heaven yesterday, 4/30/2013. 1st Sgt Rick Blish (ret) was called upon to serve in another way. I will miss my "dad" very much, but know his suffering is over. He's back in his Blues looking as good as ever. I know he would NOT want me upset or crying, but laughing and being the Marine he knows I am. OOOHHH RRAAHHH Pop. Semper Fi. I'll see you again!

40 Years Ago and I Remember It Like It Was Yesterday
I had not been in country long around 3 months on this 1/21/1968. It was just past midnight and the word came down that we had NVA in the wire and there was a break in our lines. Every 3rd man turned and watched the back in case we got jumped from behind.
